In-School Safety

Contingency Plan

Contingency events may include but are not limited to extreme weather, health, or any other situation that might put our school community at risk. Classes are not suspended for any contingency unless officially announced by the school or government authorities.

School Emergency Response Plan (SERP)

The safety of our students is always a major concern. Our buildings meet current codes standards of safety, including smoke detectors, auditory and visual fire alarms, and fire extinguishers. Colegio Inglés and Protección Civil del Estado de Nuevo León, in conjunction with the Fire Department of Monterrey, have implemented a SERP to evacuate the premises in an emergency. With this plan, we train students and personnel about the procedures to follow if necessary.

Smoke-Free Policy

Out of concern for the health of our community and in compliance with the General Health Law (chapter 3, article 26), smoking is prohibited on school premises. Therefore, the “Smoke and Tobacco–Free Schools” program should be promoted.

To comply with this regulation, our campus is a smoke-free environment. All faculty, students, parents, personnel, and visitors are expected to refrain from smoking on school premises or while attending any school-sponsored activity.
